Moldova boosts 2025 budget: Higher salaries, energy aid, and more

The 2025 state budget, approved in its second reading, outlines salary increases for various public sector employees, energy subsidies, and higher social benefits.

Teachers holding grades II, I, and higher will receive salary increases of up to 15.2% compared to the current year, depending on their grade. This increase is an additional 15.2% on top of the approximately 9% salary increase approved in the first reading.

Additionally, the government has increased the loan guarantee limits for the "First Home" and "First Home Plus" programs from 3 to 4.5 billion lei.

An additional 30.5 million lei has been allocated to support high-performance sports.

Another 50 million lei has been allocated to subsidize new investments of at least 500 thousand euros in the economy, aimed at creating well-paid jobs.
