Natalia Gavrilița resigns from the position of Prime Minister
Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliția announced on Friday, February 10, that she is resigning from the position of prime minister. "After a year and a half at the head of this government, the time has come to announce my resignation from this position," said Gavrilița, on Friday, in a briefing.
The government led by Natalia Gavrilița was inaugurated on August 6, 2021, composed of 13 ministries, and obtained the vote of confidence from 61 PAS deputies. Since the beginning of the mandate, five ministers and deputy prime ministers have been changed. A few months after his inauguration, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Vladislav Kulminski submitted his resignation. Shortly after, Oleg Serebrian was appointed. And last summer, two ministers left: Viorel Gherciu from the Ministry of Agriculture and former Minister of the Environment Iuliana Cantaragiu. The interim position of Minister of the Environment was secured from October 7 by the Minister of Agriculture, Vladimir Bolea. Later, the State Secretary of the institution, Rodica Iordanov, was appointed as Minister of the Environment. In November 2022, the Minister of the Economy, Sergiu Gaibu, announced his resignation, the position being subsequently occupied by the PAS deputy, Dumitru Alaiba. This year started with reshuffles. Alexei Buzu replaced Marcel Spatari, who announced his resignation as Minister of Labor and Social Protection.
