Amad Diallo’s hat-trick seals Manchester United’s 3-1 win
Manchester United achieved a dramatic 3-1 victory in the 21st round of the Premier League, overturning a deficit in the final minutes of the match.
Ivorian forward Amad Diallo was the hero of the night, scoring all three goals for the home side.
At halftime in their game against FC Southampton, held at the iconic "Old Trafford" stadium, Manchester United trailed 1-0 despite dominating the opposing defense. An own goal by Uruguayan Manuel Ugarte had given Southampton the lead.
From the start of the second half, Manchester United pressed relentlessly for an equalizer but only managed to break through in the 82nd minute, when Amad Diallo leveled the score. In injury time, the Ivorian striker netted two more goals to complete an unexpected hat-trick and secure victory for his team.
“For me, scoring is important, but right now, the team’s victory matters more. Still, I’m delighted to have achieved my first senior-level hat-trick, especially as it helped secure the win,” said Amad Diallo.
This victory ended Manchester United’s four-game winless streak in the Premier League, revitalizing their campaign. Ruben Amorim’s side, who had not won a league match in nearly a month, now sits 12th in the table with 26 points. Meanwhile, FC Southampton remains rooted to the bottom with just six points.
