Electricity demand on the right bank covered for January 19. Disconnections continue on the left bank of the Nistru

The electricity supply for the right bank of the Nistru has been completely secured for January 19. According to the Government Crisis Cell, there is no need to activate emergency contracts at this time. However, the left bank of the Nistru is still experiencing an electricity deficit, resulting in rotational blackouts that last five hours and occur once daily.

According to Energocom, for today, electricity consumption is forecasted to be approximately 10% lower compared to yesterday, and for the right bank of the Nistru, the necessary commercial capacity has been fully reserved at the border with Romania to supplement domestic production with imports.

According to official data, the situation on January 18 shows a decrease in consumption by 11% compared to the previous day, with energy being supplied from several sources, including SA "Termoelectrica" (29.98%), SA "CET-Nord" (4.29%), SE "NHE Costești" (1.19%), renewable energy (16.42%) and imports from Romania (48.12%).

During the peak period 17:00-20:00, maximum consumption reached 855 MW, without exceeding the forecasted consumption value. Renewable energy production reached a record value of 16.42% of consumption. In the thermal energy and natural gas sector on the right bank, all generation sources are operational and there are no risks.

On the left bank of the Nistru, the main supplier, the Cuciurgan Power Plant, provides 88.06% of the energy, and the rest comes from the Dubăsari Hydropower Plant and the technological flow.

In this context, the authorities recommend that citizens use electricity rationally, especially during peak hours, both to have lower bills and to ensure the stability of the electricity system.
