Moldovagaz: Potential gas supplier to Transnistria
Moldovagaz could potentially begin purchasing natural gas from the Moldovan gas exchange for delivery to the Transnistrian region, according to a statement from the Office of Reintegration Policy.
This could potentially happen immediately, subject to one condition: the "Tiraspoltransgaz" enterprise must pay for the delivered gas.
The Government of Moldova has reported that Tiraspol has agreed to allow Moldovagaz to operate gas deliveries to Tiraspoltransgaz. However, Tiraspol has requested that third-party companies handle the payment for the natural gas, its procurement, and transportation to the border with the Republic of Moldova. In this scenario, "Tiraspoltransgaz" would be responsible for paying Moldovagaz only for the transit of gas across Moldovan territory.
Relevant Moldovan government agencies are currently reviewing this request, assessing the entities involved, and ensuring the procedure complies with national and international legal standards, the Bureau further stated.
