Russian drone strikes Ukraine: Over 60 drones hit civilian areas

The Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with over 60 Shahed drones and two guided missiles in the past 24 hours, announces the Ukrainian army.

The enemy deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure and residential areas across 11 Ukrainian regions. At least three people have been injured in Kharkiv.

On Saturday afternoon, Russian troops struck the city of Kharkiv three times, targeting residential neighborhoods.

"I was in the garage when I heard an explosion. I went outside and saw my car on fire, while other cars were destroyed—everything was ruined. But we’ll fix it all; the most important thing is that everyone is alive. My son-in-law was next to the car and saw the drone flying. When it exploded, he dropped to the ground and managed to react. The car was damaged, but everything else is fine," says a local resident.

"According to preliminary information, the Russians used Molnia drones for all three strikes. A large number of cluster bomb remnants were found on the ground, causing damage to everything around: buildings, cars," said Dmitro Ciubenko, spokesperson for the Kharkiv Prosecutor’s Office.

A Russian drone hit a residential building in Vyshneve, a town near Kyiv, damaging apartments on several floors. No casualties have been reported. Rescuers were seen evacuating people from the damaged building with the help of a crane.

"All the walls are intact, just some cracks. The apartments at the front of the building suffered the most, but I believe that once we get the expert’s approval, we’ll have everything restored in no more than a month. Thank God, everyone is alive," say the rescuers.

According to the Ukrainian army, Russia launched over 60 drones and two missiles across 11 regions. Both missiles and 46 drones were destroyed, while another 15 unmanned aerial vehicles disappeared from radar without hitting their targets.

In recent months, the Russian army has intensified its attacks on Ukraine, sending dozens of drones almost every night, hitting both civilian and energy infrastructure. Moscow denies that its bombings target civilians.
