Fines of over 11 million lei, applied in electoral corruption cases
The fines imposed so far on voters who took money in exchange for voting in the presidential elections and referendum amount to over 11 million lei. The sanctions were applied by the National Anticorruption Center (CNA), based on the contravention processes drawn up by the police.

For committing this contravention, the fine varies between 25,000 and 37,500 lei. According to the National Anticorruption Center, the persons who committed the contravention deed are released from contravention liability if they self-denounce or contribute to the discovery or counteraction of the commission of the deed of electoral corruption.
According to the legislation, "passive electoral corruption consists in establishing the facts of claiming, accepting or receiving - personally or through an intermediary, by a voter - goods, services, privileges or advantages in any form, which are not due to him, for himself or for another person, to exercise or not exercise electoral rights in elections".
CNA informs that it is still examining the received minutes and will take decisions on them.
