Emil Hurezeanu, in Chisinau: Romania is one of the most supportive partners of the Republic of Moldova
Romania supports the Republic of Moldova in the face of the energy crisis and hybrid attacks, Bucharest Foreign Minister Emil Hurezeanu said at a press conference with his Moldovan counterpart Mihai Popșoi. The Romanian official noted that the difficult energy situation and the upcoming electoral exercises this autumn are closely related to the hostile actions of the Russian Federation, which create instability in the region.
"The path to energy independence is not easy and involves costs and difficult decisions. Hybrid attacks will continue, and the Republic of Moldova must be prepared for these challenges," the Romanian official said.
The minister said that, in the face of the energy crisis, the relations between the two states have strengthened; Romania currently supplying 50-60% of our country's energy needs: "We are glad that we have more joint projects and that Romania continues to support the Republic of Moldova in these difficult times," Hurezeanu added.
Hurezeanu also reaffirmed Romania's support for the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, noting that our country is "the most diligent student in the class of aspirants to the European Union." "Romania is one of the EU's most supportive partners with the Republic of Moldova," said the Romanian minister.
"In the complicated moments our country is going through, when some are trying to make our lives harder, others, such as Romania, have always been by our side and have always encouraged us in our aspirations," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi.

The Romanian minister had discussions with President Maia Sandu and with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. During the dialogue, the head of state discussed with the Romanian official about strengthening economic ties, Romanian investments in Moldova, improving infrastructure, and the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova, "Romania is a firm supporter of its accession to the EU".

Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, expressed his gratitude for the consistent support offered by Romania to our country.
"Please stand by the Republic of Moldova in 2025 as well because it is a year that can open a more predictable corridor for our European agenda," Igor Grosu said.
The officials noted that for both the Republic of Moldova and Romania, the year 2025 is an electoral year, so it is important that the authorities of both countries join to counter disinformation campaigns and the risks associated with cyber attacks.
