Missile strikes hit Poltava and Odessa, leaving casualties in Ukraine
A missile strike occurred in Ukraine’s Poltava region on February 1.

Governor Filip Pronin stated on Telegram that a multi-story residential building was struck by a missile and caught fire after Russia launched an attack on the region, according to Unian.
The attack left two people dead and seven others injured, according to the State Emergency Service. The building’s entrance was destroyed from the first to the fifth floor, and the explosion triggered a fire. Nearby buildings and a dozen vehicles sustained damage.
State Emergency Service personnel helped 21 people evacuate the danger zone.

Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv region, a major city near Russia’s eastern border, also reported attacks in two settlements, stating that a damage assessment is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the number of wounded continues to rise after missile strikes hit Odesa’s historic center on Friday, January 31, injuring at least seven people. The regional authorities confirmed the information.
Three explosions were reported at around 8:00 p.m. local time, shortly after Ukraine’s Air Force warned of missile launches from the Black Sea.
“Fortunately, no fatalities were reported. Some people were injured and received medical assistance. Among those caught in the heart of the attack were Norwegian diplomats. The attack is under investigation. We are doing everything possible to help those affected,” wrote Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on X.com.
