Farmers in Moldova: Get 80% subsidy for land and soil improvement projects

Moldovan farmers may apply for advance subsidies for investment projects related to land improvement, soil enhancement, and protection, announced the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry.

Subsidies will be available to farmers, agricultural producer groups, irrigation water user associations, professional organizations in agriculture, research and innovation organizations, and educational institutions with an agro-industrial focus.

Applications must be submitted by February 28 to the Agency for Intervention and Payments in Agriculture (AIPA).

The subsidies will cover 80% of the eligible project cost, up to a maximum of 800 thousand lei (~€40,000). These subsidies will be provided for activities such as: preventing and combating soil erosion; chemical soil improvement; and conserving and enhancing the fertility of agricultural land.
