Donation account for the Turkish people, opened by the Ministry of Finance
The Ministry of Finance has opened an account to collect money in the form of a donation, to support the Turkish people in connection with the disaster caused by the earthquake of February 6, 2023. Donations can be made in MDL, US dollars and euros.
According to a report published the other day by the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation, the costs of the damage amount to 84.1 billion dollars, of which 70 billion dollars for the repair of thousands of destroyed homes, 10 billion dollars representing the loss of national income and about 3 billion of dollars as a result of lost work days. The report estimates that the main costs will be rebuilding housing, transportation lines, electricity, and covering the short-, medium-, and long-term shelter needs of the hundreds of thousands of people left homeless. We remind you that the south of Turkey was devastated by two strong earthquakes produced at the beginning of last week. Rescuers are still working in the hope of finding people alive. According to the latest information, more than 36 thousand people died in Turkey and Syria as a result of the earthquakes.
