The Republic of Moldova with receive a grant of 15.4 million euros from EBRD for the construction of the Balti-Suceava air power line
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will provide the Republic of Moldova with a grant of 15.4 million euros for the construction of the 400 kV Balti-Suceava overhead power line. The parliamentary committee on foreign policy and European integration approved the advisory opinion for the initiation of negotiations and the approval of the signing of an agreement in this regard between Moldelectrica and the EBRD.

This overhead power line will interconnect the municipalities of Balti and Suceava in Romania, and the works are provided for by the project on the interconnection of electricity networks between the Republic of Moldova and Romania.
This project implementation will allow increasing the energy security of the country, especially in the northern region, which is one of the most vulnerable. Also, it will increase the degree of flexibility of the electricity system, which will allow the integration of additional renewable energy generation capacities with intermittent operation, informs the Foreign Policy and European Integration Committee.
