The political representatives in the process of negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement meet in Chisinau
The Political Bureau of Reintegration announces a new meeting of the political representatives in the process of negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement. The meeting will take place today in Chisinau.
The parties will discuss the energy crisis and the free movement of citizens. After the meeting in Chisinau, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, will hold a press conference.
OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid said in an interview with Free Europe that the OSCE mission had facilitated several meetings between the chief negotiators in Chisinau and Tiraspol - eight meetings so far in 2022. "This is essential for stability and we are the only international organisation involved in this", Helga Maria Schmid stated.
TRM.MD recalls that the last meeting of political representatives in the negotiation process for the Transnistrian settlement took place on October 28, at the OSCE headquarters in Tiraspol.
The main topic of the discussions was the energy crisis and the vulnerabilities to which the inhabitants on both banks of the Dniester are exposed in the context of the essential decrease in the volumes of energy resources provided.
