Dunkirk stuns Lille 5-4 in penalty shootout to reach quarter-finals
Union Sportive du Littoral de Dunkerque, a team from the French second division, eliminated Ligue 1 side Lille Olympique Sporting Club from the competition. Dunkerque reached the quarter-finals thanks to their victory in the penalty shootout.

The match in the Round of 16 of the French Cup took place at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, located in the suburbs of Lille, and ended in dramatic fashion. The hosts took the lead in the 85th minute through Portuguese forward Andre Gomes, but the visiting team equalized in the 90+6th minute.
The game then went to a penalty shootout. Lille lost their place in the quarter-finals of the French Cup after leading 3-0 in the penalty shootout.
Ethan Mbappe, Bakker, and Gomes were the first three to score for Olympique Lille, while Dunkerque missed two penalties, taken by Courtet and Bardeli.
Dunkerque then scored five consecutive penalties, while Lille scored only once and missed three times. As a result, the second-division side won 5-4 and reached the quarter-finals.
Paris Saint-Germain comfortably advanced to the next stage of the competition. PSG defeated third-division side Le Mans 2-0 on the road. The visitors scored one goal in each half through Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola, the latter replacing Doue at halftime.
