Promo-LEX reaction after a citizen of the Republic of Moldova was allegedly kidnapped by the so-called structures in Tiraspol
Update 11:45 The Promo-LEX Association condemns the kidnapping of a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, in broad daylight, from the center of Chisinau, by representatives of the de facto structures in Tiraspol, emphasizing that this act represents a serious violation of fundamental human rights. In this regard, Promo-LEX calls on the Prosecutor General's Office to treat the case with absolute priority, to identify all perpetrators and to initiate criminal proceedings against those involved, regardless of their status within the illegal structures in Tiraspol.
In addition, the association calls on the constitutional authorities to improve the mechanisms for coordinating law enforcement agencies and to ensure the strict application of national legislation and international standards in the security zone and throughout the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
Three individuals were detained for allegedly kidnapping a Moldovan citizen residing on the left bank of the Nistru. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the victim was taken by force in connection with a robbery that was reportedly committed in the area.
Law enforcement officials stated that they reported the incident, which happened yesterday, without delay and took all necessary actions. The suspects are now in the custody of the authorities.
The Reintegration Bureau informed Teleradio-Moldova that investigation agencies are currently working to check the details of the case.
