Alain Berset, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, will pay his first official visit to the Republic of Moldova

The Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset will pay his first official visit to the Republic of Moldova on 12-13 February, the institution’s office in Chisinau announced.

In a press release, the office stated that the visit highlights the Council of Europe’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with the Republic of Moldova. It will also serve as the official launch for the new Action Plan for the Republic of Moldova for 2025-2028.

During his visit, Secretary General Alain Berset will meet with President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, as well as representatives from civil society and the judiciary. The discussions will focus on key priorities, including human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
