Kidnapping in the center of Chisinau // The Prosecutor's Office requests the preventive arrest of the three suspects
The Prosecutor's Office plans to seek a 30-day preventive arrest measure for three suspects who were detained in connection with the kidnapping of a Moldovan citizen in the center of Chisinau on January 6.
According to a press release from the General Prosecutor's Office (PG), law enforcement agencies started criminal proceedings regarding the kidnapping of an individual allegedly perpetrated by someone in a position of responsibility or public office.
The PG stated that it would continue to monitor the case's progress and will take necessary measures to ensure a fair resolution.
This morning, the police reported the detention of three individuals in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, who resides on the left bank of the Nistru. The victim was forcibly taken under the accusation of having committed robbery or theft in the area.
The Promo-LEX Association has condemned this incident, emphasizing that the kidnapping of the Moldovan citizen occurred in broad daylight in the center of Chisinau by representatives of the de facto structures in Tiraspol. The Association stresses that this act is a serious violation of fundamental human rights.
