Zimbru Chișinău signs Arquimides Ordonez for second half of season
Zimbru Chișinău is strengthening its team for the second half of the season with the addition of 21-year-old forward Arquimides Ordonez from Guatemala.
Ordonez brings valuable experience from his time at FC Cincinnati in the United States, where he made 26 appearances and scored one goal, as well as from his tenure at Swedish club FK Östersunds, where he played 29 matches and scored four goals. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ordonez has also represented the Guatemala national team in two matches.
Ordonez played in Zimbru Chișinău's most recent friendly during their training camp in Turkey, where the team suffered a 0-3 defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk. The Ukrainians opened the scoring in the first half through Kevin, and Zimbru missed a penalty early in the second half, with Guy Dahan’s attempt going wide. Shakhtar was awarded a penalty as well, and Artiom Bondarenko converted it. Marian Šved scored the third goal for Shakhtar near the end of the match.
Zimbru Chișinău’s next friendly match in Turkey is scheduled for February 13, when they will face another Ukrainian team, Karpaty Lviv.
