Security challenges, discussed in Chisinau in the context of the visit of the OSCE President, the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani
The security issues in the region in the context of the war in Ukraine, the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, but also ensuring the resilience of the Republic of Moldova - are the main issues that will be addressed during the visit to Chisinau by the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, who holds and the presidency within the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), announces the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE).
"Discussions at the MAEIE will be focused on the security challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova as a result of the brutal war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the Transnistrian settlement process, but also the role of the OSCE in strengthening the resilience of our country", wrote the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Integration Acting European, Nicu Popescu, on his Telegram account. After the meeting, the two foreign ministers will hold a press conference. The program of the visit to the Republic of Moldova includes meetings with the president Maia Sandu, the Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and the acting deputy prime minister for reintegration, Oleg Serebrian. Nicu Popescu and Bujar Osmani discussed in May 2022, during the ministerial session of the Council of Europe, reconfirming the perspectives of cooperation on the path of advancing both countries towards integration into the European Union. Also then, Nicu Popescu invited the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia to visit the Republic of Moldova.
