Raids in Căinari: One person investigated in electoral corruption case
A resident from Căinari village in the Căușeni district is under investigation for electoral corruption. This morning, officers from the National Anticorruption Center and prosecutors conducted a raid at his home, seizing various items along with cash.

According to preliminary information, during the presidential election campaign last fall, an individual representing a political party allegedly offered amounts ranging from 500 to 2,000 lei to several voters, encouraging them to vote for a specific candidate. The suspect is currently under investigation but remains free.
We remind you that individuals who attempt to influence the outcome of an election through monetary offers face penalties of one to five years in prison and fines exceeding 50,000 lei. To recover any damages, law enforcement agencies may seize the assets of such individuals. Additionally, those who report illegal activities and cooperate with the investigation may be granted immunity from criminal or administrative liability.
As of now, fines totalling over 11 million lei have been imposed for violations related to passive electoral corruption. Furthermore, 10 criminal cases related to electoral corruption, initiated by the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) and prosecutors, are currently in court.
