Eugen Carpov gets a new mandate as head of ANRE
Eugen Carpov will continue to lead the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) after his candidacy for a new term as director of the Board of Directors was proposed to Parliament's plenary session.

The decision to appoint Eugen Carpov was made following a public competition organized by the Economy, Budget, and Finance Committee, which accepted 14 candidates. Carpov had the highest score in the interview test.
A law graduate, Carpov has served as the director of the National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) since 2019 and has significant experience in the energy sector. The results of the competition will be submitted to the Parliament Speaker and the Legal, Appointments, and Immunities Committee.
The board of directors of ANRE consists of five directors, who are appointed by Parliament through a competitive process under current legislation.
Who is Eugen Carpov?
Eugen Carpov was born on April 22, 1966, in Ungheni and has extensive diplomatic and political experience. He served as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Republic of Moldova from 2011 to 2014. Before this role, he held positions in external representation, including Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Poland (2002-2005) and Head of the Mission of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union (2005-2007).
In 2014, Carpov was elected as a Member of Parliament on the PLDM lists. However, in February 2015, he left the party faction and became an independent MP. During the Leancă Government, Carpov served as a technocratic Deputy Prime Minister without any political affiliation.
Since 2019, he has led the National Energy Regulatory Agency, and according to his statement on property, Carpov reported a monthly salary of over 108,000 lei in 2023.
