Drone attack on Reni port leads to crashes in Moldova

Last night, after a massive drone attack on the Reni port in Ukraine, several drones crossed into the airspace of the Republic of Moldova.

The Border Police detected the drones, and two of them crashed on the country's territory.

One drone crashed on agricultural land near Ciumai, in the Taraclia district, while another exploded on a field between Ceadîr-Lunga and Valea Perjei. The police located the second drone 1.5 kilometers away from Ceadîr-Lunga. No casualties were reported after the explosions, but authorities sealed off the areas and began investigating the wreckage.

Following the attack, Border Police officers at the Reni-Giurgiulești crossing point suspended operations and were evacuated to Giurgiulești. Between 23:05 and 00:40, several explosions were observed in the border area with Ukraine, within the jurisdiction of the Southern Regional Directorate. At 00:59, the air alarm in Ukraine was lifted, and at 01:30, operations at the Giurgiulești-Reni crossing point resumed.
