President of the Ialoveni territorial organization of the former "Șor" Party, sent to trial for illegal financing
The president of the Ialoveni territorial organization of the former "Sor" Political Party was sent to trial. He is accused of complicity in the illegal financing of the party by an organized criminal group. The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office completed the criminal investigation and sent the file to the court for examination.

According to the investigation, between July and October 2022, the accused allegedly coordinated the activities of the territorial organization, knowing that the party was financially supported from illicit sources. He allegedly acted together with the party leaders, vice-presidents, the treasurer and couriers responsible for transporting the funds, thus facilitating the acceptance of amounts of about 3.5 million lei.
The money was allegedly used to promote the party's political interests and consolidate its influence in the Republic of Moldova.
The accused did not admit his guilt, and the file was sent for examination to the Chisinau Court based in Buiucani. If found guilty, he risks a fine between 57,500 and 92,500 lei or a prison sentence of 2 to 7 years, with a ban on holding public office for a period of up to 5 years.
