The school was upgraded following the eduLIFE model. Specifically, the classrooms, medical and psychological offices were renovated, and female students have free access to hygiene products.

The restrooms were equipped with dispensers containing menstrual hygiene products, provided free of charge throughout the school year. Meanwhile, the medical office was upgraded to the latest standards, encouraging more frequent visits from students.

"I rarely visit the medical office. I only go when I'm accompanying someone."

"I really like it here; it's nice and helpful. I sometimes get headaches, but I'm not sure why. Today was particularly bad, so I came here."

"This office has been completely transformed. It was fully renovated. Good working conditions are essential for job satisfaction. But if you love your work, you can thrive anywhere," says medical assistant Lidia Naidenco.

The eduLIFE project also included the modernization of a classroom for optional subjects, such as health education.

"These offices are vital for students. The psychological office offers consultations. Many of our refugee students need psychological counseling," notes the principal of the "Taras Shevchenko" Gymnasium, Angela Moizesovici.

"They needed to be integrated into society; many had studied online or not at all. My goal was to help them socialize and integrate into the educational system," says psychologist Elena Tcaci.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, more than 2,300 Ukrainian children have enrolled in schools across Moldova. Of those, 225 attend the "Taras Shevchenko" Gymnasium. The Ministry of Education reports that the eduLIFE program has expanded to three more high schools this year, including those in the capital, Ceadîr Lunga, and Ungheni. The total investment is over two million lei.
