Man dies in accident on the Chisinau - Ungheni road

A 68-year-old man died in a serious accident on the Chisinau-Ungheni road today. According to the General Inspectorate of Police, he was driving on the wrong side of the road, where he collided head-on with a truck driven by a 65-year-old man.

Following the impact, the victim was transported to the hospital, but unfortunately, the doctors could not save his life. The truck driver was tested with the Drager device, the result was negative for alcohol.

Straseni police started a criminal case to establish the circumstances of the accident.

Tiraspoltransgaz returned, between March 26 and 31, 3 million cubic meters of natural gas to Moldovagaz, based on the contractual conditions established by the Commission for Emergencies (CSE). Court rejects the request for preventive detention against Evghenia Guțul

The magistrates of the Chisinau Court based in Buiucani rejected the request for preventive arrest for 30 days on behalf of Evghenia Guțul submitted by the anti-corruption prosecutors. In justifying its decision, the panel of judges referred to the provisions of Articles 175, 176 and 342 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Under these provisions, the court ruled: “The request of the anti-corruption prosecutors Ghenadie Epure and Cristina Gladcov regarding the application of the preventive measure of preventive arrest for 30 days concerning the defendant Guțul is rejected as inadmissible”. “The conclusion with the right of appeal to the Chisinau Court of Appeal can be challenged within three days through the Chisinau Court based in Buiucani,” reads the judges’ decision.
