Irina Rîngaci wins silver at Ranking series tournament in Tirana

Wrestler Irina Rîngaci secured the silver medal at the "Ranking" series tournament held in Tirana, Albania's capital.

The Moldovan athlete competed in the 65-kilogram weight category and had a huge opportunity to win the gold as well, but was unfortunately plagued by bad luck.

In the final against Japanese wrestler Miwa Morikawa, Irina was leading 6-3, but after injuring herself, she was forced to withdraw from the match. As a result, the Japanese wrestler was declared the winner.

Irina Rîngaci thus secured the silver medal, and at the award ceremony, she climbed the podium in tears.

This is the second medal earned by members of the Moldovan national team at the Tirana tournament. The day before, freestyle wrestler Vasile Diacon won the bronze in the 70-kilogram weight category.

The "Ranking" series tournament in Tirana will conclude on Sunday.
