Moldova roads: Winter impact and maintenance
Winter conditions are impacting traffic on national roads and in Chisinau.

Road maintenance crews worked overnight to maintain road passability and ensure safe travel. The road surface is wet, with patches of snow and ice, the State Road Administration (ASD) advises.

The ASD reports that patrols and anti-icing measures were implemented across various regions, including Căinari, Căușeni, Ștefan Vodă, Leova, Bălți, Sîngerei, Criuleni, Dubăsari, Nisporeni, Ialoveni, Hâncești, Râșcani, Chișinău, Bursuc, Orhei, Drochia, Florești, Sănătăuca, Călărași, Strășeni, Ungheni, and others.

During the night, over 100 specialized vehicles and approximately 90 road workers were deployed for road maintenance. 1,160.7 tons of technical salt were spread mechanically, 32.3 tons manually, 66 tons of anti-skid material mechanically, and 18.8 tons manually.
Road traffic in Chisinau is also proceeding normally, and public transport is operating on its holiday schedule. No traffic difficulties or deviations from the schedule have been reported on suburban bus and trolleybus routes, the Chisinau City Hall reported.
Exdrupo began spreading anti-skid material on the streets of the capital and its suburbs on Saturday evening, deploying 20 units of equipment. Given the weather forecast, repeated interventions are being carried out on public transport routes.

The housing and communal services intervened in all sectors of the capital, on sidewalks and access roads in residential areas, with 60 machines spreading anti-skid material. Municipal services also intervened with 10 machines from the early hours of the morning for snow removal and frost prevention in parks and squares.
Municipal authorities advise citizens to be cautious when crossing streets in winter conditions, and Chisinau businesses and building managers are requested to address their respective premises.
Traffic participants are also urged to drive carefully and adjust their speed to road conditions. It is also important for every driver to ensure that their vehicle is properly equipped for winter driving.
If necessary, residents of the capital can contact the Municipal Central Dispatch at (022) 22-22-67 or (022) 22-26-04.
