Nistru War victims get 1,000 lei in financial assistance
351 people who suffered as a result of the Nistru War received financial assistance of 1,000 lei (~50.00 euro).
The beneficiaries include individuals with disabilities, as well as the spouses and one parent of fallen participants.
According to the National Social Insurance House, the funds were transferred to the beneficiaries' social card accounts, where they receive their pensions, allowances, indemnities, or other social benefits.
Beneficiaries without a social card can collect the funds from any post office nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova, more than 30,000 people participated in the 1991–1992 Nistru armed conflict. Among them, 300 military personnel and civilians lost their lives, while another 3,500 were injured.
