Maia Sandu announces inheritance process reform in Moldova
The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, announced on Thursday that the inheritance process will be simplified and made more affordable, following numerous complaints from citizens during her visits to localities across the country.
"At many of my meetings, people raise the issue of inheritance law. I have discussed it with my colleagues in Parliament, and the law will be amended to make the process easier and more affordable, especially for the spouses of the heirs," said the President.
Additionally, the President emphasized that, after legal changes made in 2018, the process of resolving inheritance issues has become much more expensive and complicated for citizens. Therefore, Parliament is expected to implement the necessary amendments as soon as possible, according to a statement from the Presidency.
