Police officer from Chisinau, detained for bribery
A police officer from Chisinau was detained by officers of the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) in connection with a corruption case. He is suspected of demanding and accepting 1,000 euros from a young man in exchange for not sanctioning him for a minor offense.
According to the CNA, a police officer allegedly demanded money to prevent a fine for a denouncer, whom he accused of engaging in illegal activities related to cryptocurrency transactions.
After receiving the complaint, the CNA arranged a controlled transfer of the money. The suspect was detained for 72 hours after he received the payment.
