Thousands of volunteers are invited to take part in the National Planting Day, a key event of the “Forest Generation” campaign, which kicks off on March 15, 2025. The initiative aims to restore and afforest 3,500 hectares of land by planting eight million seedlings across 120 locations nationwide.

"Every tree we plant today is a step toward a greener tomorrow," stated Minister Lazarencu, encouraging citizens to contribute to "creating a greener, cleaner, and healthier future."

As part of the "Forest Generation" campaign, over 140,000 seedlings will be planted in Geamăna village, covering approximately 30 hectares. The area will be reforested with various species, including acacia, honey locust, silverberry, and maple.

The Moldsilva Agency will provide the necessary support for volunteers, supplying saplings, shovels, gloves, buckets, water, and even hot tea to ensure a smooth and efficient planting process.

This initiative aligns with Moldova’s National Program for Forest Expansion and Rehabilitation (2023-2032), launched by President Maia Sandu. The program aims to restore and expand 145,000 hectares of forests across the country.

According to the Ministry of Environment, in the first two years since the program’s launch, over 15,000 hectares have already been afforested, marking significant progress in the country’s reforestation efforts.
