The first authorization for the cultivation of hemp for industrial purposes, issued in the Republic of Moldova

The Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices issued the first authorization for the cultivation of hemp for the purpose of producing seeds, fibers and/or oil. The document was issued by the Agency's Standing Committee on Drug Control.
According to the institution, hemp cultivation complies with the approved technological act, and hemp intended for the production of seeds, fibers and oil is cultivated according to agrotechnical norms.
Industrial hemp is a profitable and easy-to-maintain crop. With a growth cycle of only 90 days, it allows for two to three harvests per year. Also, hemp captures large amounts of carbon dioxide and contributes to combating climate change.
