FCSB vs Rapid: Six-goal showdown ends in dramatic draw

FCSB and Rapid București played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in a dramatic encounter filled with twists and turns.
Daniel Bîrligea opened the scoring for FCSB in the 29th minute, heading in a well-placed cross from Adrian Șut. The Burgundy and Whites nearly equalized in the 36th minute when Ivorian Kader Keita sent his shot wide, but they eventually leveled the score from a corner kick, with defender Denis Ciobotariu finding the net.
Elias Charalambous’ side regained the lead in the 55th minute as Italian forward Iuri Cisotti slotted home after receiving an assist from Bîrligea.
Rapid fought back in the 70th minute. Launched on a counterattack by Norwegian Tobias Christensen, Alexandru Dobre fired the ball past goalkeeper Ștefan Târnovanu. Seconds later, Rapid was reduced to ten men following a controversial decision. Andrei Borza received a second yellow card for an alleged foul from behind on Cisotti and was sent off. Despite being a man down, Rapid took the lead in the 83rd minute when Valentin Crețu accidentally turned the ball into his own net.
The ending was dramatic. Florin Tănase struck the equalizer in the 90+3rd minute, and the match ended in a thrilling 3-3 draw—just as it had in the spring of 2004.
Following this result, FCSB remains in second place with 29 points, just one behind leaders CFR Cluj, while Rapid sits in sixth place with 24 points.
