Anesthetist under house arrest in case of businesswoman's death

Anesthetist Ecaterina Maniuc, who is suspected in the death of businesswoman Liubov Babuțchi, has been placed under house arrest for 30 days.
According to Violina Moraru, spokesperson for the General Prosecutor’s Office, the court partially approved the prosecutors’ request, and the prosecutor handling the case will appeal this decision, seeking 30 days of preventive detention for the defendant.
It should be noted that businesswoman Liubov Babuțchi died at a salon in the Moldovan capital Chișinău on January 30. Anesthetist Ecaterina Maniuc was arrested on February 7 and later placed under preventive detention, as she is under investigation for the illegal practice of medicine.
Meanwhile, Irina Borodkina, the salon owner and a Ukrainian citizen, managed to flee the Republic of Moldova shortly after the incident.
