Heathrow flights resume after power outage

Flights at London Heathrow Airport have resumed after a power outage caused by a nearby electrical substation fire led to its temporary closure on Friday, according to the BBC.

Approximately 200,000 passengers experienced disruptions when flights were grounded.

Aircraft scheduled to land at Heathrow were diverted to other European airports.

To recap, Heathrow, the UK's busiest airport, was temporarily shut down on Friday, March 21, due to a large fire at a substation in Hayes, about 2.5 kilometers away. The incident caused widespread power loss at the airport, resulting in all flights being suspended.

The fire also left thousands of homes without electricity, and 150 people were evacuated from surrounding properties.
