The political representatives in the negotiation process for the Transnistrian settlement meet in Tiraspol
The first meeting of political representatives in the process of negotiations for the Transnistrian settlement will take place today at the headquarters of the OSCE Mission in Tiraspol, the Reintegration Political Bureau (BPR) of the Government of the Republic of Moldova announces.
"The discussions will be focused on the most urgent problems faced by the residents on both banks of the Nistru, among which: unconditional assurance of free movement, respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms, access to land in the Dubăsari district", reads a BPR press release. The meeting of the two chief negotiators will take place at the initiative of the Transnistrian side, which declared that several topics will be discussed, including the "separatism law", recently adopted in the final reading by the Parliament, the media from the Republic of Moldova writes. The continuation of the dialogue in the format of 1+1 negotiations and within the sectoral working groups in order to identify technical solutions for the most urgent problems faced by the inhabitants of the eastern districts of the country and the Security Zone is one of the fundamental priorities established in the program of governance of the new Government, led by Dorina Recean. The last meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and the so-called Foreign Minister of the Transnistrian region Vitalii Ignatiev took place on December 2, 2022. The parties discussed topics related to the energy crisis, ensuring free movement and threats to security in the region.
