Sergiu Stanciu resigns from Teleradio-Moldova leadership

Sergiu Stanciu has resigned from his role as secretary of the Supervisory and Development Council (CSD) of Teleradio-Moldova. The announcement was made on Tuesday, March 26, at the conclusion of the Council meeting.
"Mr. Sergiu Stanciu announced his resignation from both his position as a member of the Supervisory and Development Council and as secretary of the Council. We approved a decision acknowledging his resignation as a member, as this must be approved by Parliament. In the same decision, we dismissed him from his role as secretary, which falls within our prerogative," stated Arcadie Gherasim, president of the CSD of Teleradio-Moldova.
According to Gherasim, Sergiu Stanciu resigned from both positions of his own accord.
Sergiu Stanciu is a former director of Radio Chișinău and a former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports. He headed the Labor Institute and served as deputy director of the National Museum of Literature. Since 2024, he has been the director of Arena Chișinău. He ran for mayor of Orhei under the PAS (Action and Solidarity Party) and was recently cited in a National Integrity Authority (ANI) report for holding incompatible positions.
His departure raises questions about governance, integrity, and political dynamics within Moldova’s public media sector.
