The screening of a new cluster of chapters starts in Brussels

The screening of a new cluster of chapters on the Republic of Moldova's integration into the EU - Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth - begins today in Brussels. According to the Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, in the next two days, we will discuss information society and media.

“The legislation in this area regulates the information technology sector, electronic communications, and media services”, said Gherasimov.

The implementation of the policies in Chapter 10 will lead to an increase in the degree of digitalization of public services, the gradual elimination of roaming fees, the improvement of public and private audiovisual services and the increase in the level of cybersecurity, says the Secretary of the Working Group, Radu Ceban.

Also, the adoption of legislation in the field will develop the digital infrastructure so that the online environment is safe and accessible to all, as well as expand high-speed Internet by implementing the latest generation of mobile communications and will encourage media pluralism and combating disinformation.
