Chairpersons of Nordic and Baltic Foreign Affairs Committees on a visit to the Republic of Moldova

Chairpersons of the Nordic and Baltic Foreign Affairs Committee are paying a joint visit to the Republic of Moldova from March 31 to April 1. The discussions will focus on topics related to regional foreign and security policy and the challenges faced by the Republic of Moldova in the process of accession to the European Union, reads a statement from the Parliament.
According to the agenda, the officials will meet with the Moldovan president Maia Sandu. At the Parliament, the Chairmen of the Nordic and Baltic Foreign Affairs Committees (NB8) have a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Doina Gherman and with several heads of parliamentary committees.
The program of the visit also includes discussions with civil society. At the same time, on Tuesday, the European officials will go to the Gagauz region, where they will meet with representatives of local public authorities.
The Nordic and Baltic Foreign Affairs Committees (NB8) represent a regional cooperation format, which brings together eight states: Lithuania, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Norway and Sweden. The forum's competencies are current regional and international issues.
