The 1+1 format meeting between Chișinău and Tiraspol, scheduled for Thursday, April 3, has once again been blocked by Tiraspol, according to the Reintegration Policies Bureau.

The official reason given by the political representative of the Transnistrian region is the large number of unresolved issues on the negotiation agenda, the source reported.

"Despite claiming that numerous issues have accumulated over the past few months on the discussion agenda between the two banks of the Dniester, the political representative of Tiraspol informed us on Wednesday that he rejects both the option of holding the meeting at the OSCE Mission in Chișinău and the possibility of a video conference, insisting instead on organizing the talks in Bender," the Reintegration Policies Bureau stated.

Authorities in Chișinău consider this stance "completely counterproductive," viewing it as clear evidence that Tiraspol has no real intention of restoring dialogue or addressing the accumulated issues at the negotiating table.

"By following an externally dictated agenda that runs counter to the interests of citizens on both sides of the Dniester, Tiraspol is attempting to stall the dialogue and spread mistrust within society," the source emphasized.
