Chișinău hosts "Abundance": Polish women's art & EU presidency

A premiere event held in Chișinău during Poland's presidency of the Council of the European Union features the exhibition, titled "Abundance," which was inaugurated at the National Art Museum and showcases the works of 16 young female artists from Poland.

"The 'Abundance' exhibition is a project celebrating the feminine joy of living and creating," states the exhibition's curator, Dorota Monkiewicz.

Kinga Popiela's contribution to this project includes two paintings and an installation featuring paper scrolls in various shades.
"This is my first time visiting the Republic of Moldova. Chișinău is very different from my hometown, it's so colorful," remarks the Polish visual artist.

"The exhibition features abstractionism, expressionism, naivism, realism, and constructivism. In essence, it showcases all European art styles up to this point," observes art critic Tudor Stăvilă.

A large audience was drawn to the Polish art by female artists, and the exhibition was designed for four of the museum's exhibition halls.
Very interesting, unusual, and I like it a lot. Each exhibition hall features a distinct theme.
As part of this exhibition, I am very proud of the Polish artists.

"It's a great opportunity to become familiar with the art of young Polish artists. These young artists bring their own perspective, characterized by a very bold color palette," notes Teo Chiriac, President of the Writers' Union.
"The exhibition includes feminist art, addressing contemporary women's concerns, and on the other hand, its themes are rooted in the current global context and lived experiences, even if it sometimes feels like the world has gone mad," affirms Tudor Zbârnea, Director of the National Art Museum.

The works of the young Polish artists are on display at the National Art Museum of Moldova until May 18th. Following this, the "Abundance" exhibition will travel to several European cities.
