Over 3,000 amateur and professional athletes joined a major competition in Chisinau

More than 3,000 sports professionals and amateurs gathered for a competition in the center of Chisinau. This marked the first spring half-marathon ever held in the Republic of Moldova, attracting athletes from both the country and abroad. The top performers were awarded cash prizes, gifts, and medals.
In a good mood and full of energy, the participants shared that they had been preparing intensively for the running race.
"I am an amateur. We run two or three times a week," one participant said.
"Running is fantastic. I lost 30 kg in just one year. It's like the habit of brushing your teeth or washing your face. I enjoy it, and I never force myself," said another participant.
"We have been training intensively for a year already. I recently participated in the Mileştii Mici race and achieved very good results," added another participant.
"I participate in every marathon, and today is the first time I chose the 21 km distance; previously, I only ran 10 km," said another runner.
The organizers aim to establish this event as a tradition by hosting a half marathon every year.
"This half marathon is considered international because participants come from various European countries. We take pride in bringing in runners who will get to know our capital," said Maxim Zorchin, organizer.
The spring half marathon is in its inaugural edition. Participants could choose from three running options: 10 km, 21 km, and 21 km.
