Lazio and AS Roma draw in intense 185th derby
The Derby della Capitale played out its 185th chapter in classic fashion.
Lazio had the first clear-cut chance in the 7th minute, but Belgian goalkeeper Mile Svilar produced a vital save to keep out Alessio Romagnoli’s header. Svilar was called into action again in the 22nd minute, this time denying Gustav Isaksen.
The Biancocelesti opened the scoring just two minutes into the second half, with Romagnoli heading home once again.
The Giallorossi drew level in the 69th minute. Argentine playmaker Matías Soulé struck from nearly 20 meters to make it 1–1.
The result leaves Lazio in sixth place in the Serie A standings on 56 points, just ahead of their cross-town rivals AS Roma, who are seventh on 54 points.
