Kursk region hit by massive drone attack: casualties reported

The Kursk region in the Russian Federation was hit by a large-scale drone attack on the night of April 15, between Monday and Tuesday, according to BBC reports.
As stated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, 109 Ukrainian drones were shot down over the region, and local authorities confirmed both damage and casualties in residential areas.
An 85-year-old woman was killed, and nine others were injured, suffering from head trauma, burns, and shrapnel wounds, according to Kursk authorities' official Telegram channel. The drones struck several homes on Orlovskaya, Zavodskaya, and Vesprem streets in the western part of Kursk.
Images from the scene show shattered windows and fires breaking out in several apartments. Additionally, an ambulance garage in the city was damaged, and 11 vehicles were destroyed.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported intercepting more drones in neighboring regions: three in Voronezh and one each in the Moscow, Bryansk, and Oryol regions.
Meanwhile, Russian forces launched attacks on Ukraine on the night of April 15. The Ukrainian Air Force Command announced that several Ukrainian regions had been targeted by Russian drones, though it did not provide further details on casualties or damage.
