Scholarships for pupils and students will be indexed by 4.6%

The Government approved a decision to increase several categories of scholarships for pupils and students by 4.6 percent. The Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun, stated that this increase will apply to performance and special scholarships, as well as to study and merit scholarships for students in higher education. It will also benefit students in secondary vocational and technical education institutions, as well as those pursuing education in military and public order fields.
"In 2024, we had the best admission rate in higher education in the Republic of Moldova, the highest number in the last eight years. Today's Government decision aims to increase scholarships for students in our country. We are adjusting the value of scholarships to the inflation of the previous year, respectively, a 4.6% increase in the value of scholarships at the inflation level for the previous year, a measure that will contribute, I believe, complementary to the "Study in Moldova" campaign to attracting a larger number of students to our country," said Dan Perciun.
Financial means were provided for the indexation of scholarships in the Medium-Term Budget Framework for 2025-2027. Also, additional financial means of 17.2 million lei were included in the State Budget Law for the current year. We remind you that over 14 thousand young people chose last year to continue their university studies in the Republic of Moldova.
