Anti-government protest in Chisinau. PAS reaction: "These are actions to destabilize the situation in the country"
A protest is currently taking place in the center of the capital. The demonstration is organized by the "Movement for the People" Party, which includes several activists and politicians, including the "ŞOR" Party and the "Home Building Europe" Party. The sympathizers of the two formations ask the Government to fully pay the citizens' bills for the months of December-February.
In addition to the demand for payment of bills, the citizens chant "Down with the government", Down with the dictatorship. "We are strong, united and in solidarity, and we will achieve victory," declared the deputy of the ŞOR Party, Marina Tauber. The leader of the Action and Solidarity Party told Radio Moldova that there are actions to destabilize the situation in the country. "Shor, through manipulation, tries to take advantage of people's vulnerability to hide from justice," she said.
The column of demonstrators changed the venue of the rally, in the square of the National Opera and not in front of the Parliament, as planned.
The DA platform believes that the demands of the protest organized by the Shor Party "represent the height of populism and cynicism". Demanding from the Government the full payment of bills for the consumption of gas, energy and heat this winter for all citizens denotes an unprecedented degradation of the political discourse.
In this context, the DA Platform urges citizens not to participate in the protest alongside "thieves of billions and their accomplices".
Meanwhile, the General Inspectorate of the Police reminds the participants of the meeting not to have prohibited items with them and makes a repeated call for a peaceful meeting, without acts of violence and provocations
