Youth internships: Shape Moldova's EU future

Students, Master's students, and recent graduates can spend two summer months working alongside public officials and European Union (EU) experts to gain insight into public administration.
Speaking on the "Zi de Zi" show on Radio Moldova, Iana Pustovaia, communication manager for the project "Moldova is Europe – Support for EU Integration," mentioned that interns will receive a monthly stipend of 200 euros, funded by the EU. She also explained who can apply for the program.
The joint internship program of the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova is in its fourth edition.
"The aim of this program is to bring the new generation into public service, to bring young people with new visions, with new experiences, to contribute to building a modern country, to contribute to the integration of the Republic of Moldova into the EU. The program primarily involves the application process, followed by a rigorous selection committee, and two summer months working alongside public officials, under the guidance of high-level EU advisors. Young people will thus have the opportunity to see what public administration entails, to see if it's a good fit for them, and potentially start a career in state institutions."
Eligible applicants are young people who hold citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, are students, Master's students, or recent graduates of an educational institution, whether from the Republic of Moldova or abroad, and are no older than 30. According to Iana Pustovaia, an important aspect is a sufficiently advanced level of English. Regarding personal qualities, motivation is key, she added.
"Young people will work within public institutions, such as ministries, the State Chancellery, Parliament, the Presidency, and so on, as well as subordinate institutions. Which means they will see the daily activity exactly as it unfolds; they will be involved in all activities of a ministry or a public authority. The program is very diverse. One thing we can certainly promise is that they won't get bored; in addition to daily activities, we have also planned a series of training sessions, conferences, and seminars where young people will have the opportunity to participate," Iana Pustovaia further emphasized.
Applications can be submitted until May 20th; those interested can submit their applications to the email address: [email protected].
The joint internship program of the European Union and the Government of the Republic of Moldova runs in parallel with the Government's paid internship program in public institutions. The promotion campaign for the internship programs will continue in May at Bălți State University, the Academy of Economic Studies, Free International University of Moldova, as well as online for students from the diaspora.
