Christ is Risen! Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter

Orthodox Christians celebrate Holy Easter today. It is the feast of light and joy, considered the greatest feast of Christianity, and it means the Resurrection of the Lord. The Easter celebrations last for three days.
According to tradition, people went to churches on the night of the Resurrection to bless the food and bring home the holy fire. It is said that the one who brings the light of the Resurrection to his home, his house, will be protected from enemies and evil spirits and will have more well-being in the family.
Tradition says that on Easter morning, before tasting the food, Christians must eat consecrated food. Before sitting down to the festive meal, believers wash one cheek with a red egg and the other cheek with a white egg, so that they are strong and spiritually pure. They also wash themselves with coins so that they are full of money all year.
On Easter, tradition says, no one should be sad, no one should cry. There is also the custom of wearing new clothes, which means the renewal of the body and soul.
