Ukraine peace talks set for London Apr 22

A new round of talks on Ukraine will begin on April 22 in London, following discussions held last week in Paris.

The announcement was made by Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko on his Telegram channel, RBK reported.

"These consultations are aimed at achieving a common position for Ukraine, European partners, the UK, and the USA. Then, this position will be transmitted to Russia," Honcharenko wrote.

He specified that representatives of Ukraine will also participate in the meeting.

On April 17, in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff. The topic of the discussions was the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.

Also on the same day, a Ukrainian delegation led by Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, held meetings with representatives of the "coalition of the willing," consisting of 30 countries, including France and the UK.

Subsequently, the US State Department announced that, during the negotiations, the American side presented the "outlines of peace in Ukraine," which were "received with enthusiasm" by the participants.

The Department also specified that this information was transmitted to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously reported on the discussion between the two.
