Messages from the country's leadership on International Workers' Day: "Every profession is valuable, we thank everyone who performs their work with dignity"

On International Workers' Day, the country's leadership sent messages to citizens, noting that the Republic of Moldova is strong through its hard-working people and thanked everyone for their daily work.

"On International Workers' Day, we thank those who, through their daily work, make hospitals, schools, factories, businesses, public transport, state institutions, and cultural ones function well. Your work ensures continuity, safety, and trust in every community. And thanks to the efforts you make, we have hope for a better future – here, at home, in Moldova", said President Maia Sandu.

In turn, Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that today we honor all those who work and contribute to the development of our country, wherever they are - in agriculture, construction, hospitals, public service, schools, IT or industry.

"Every profession is valuable and I thank all those who fulfill their responsibility with dignity, honesty and make our community better. Moldova is strong through its people, hardworking people: entrepreneurs who started a business from scratch, creating well-paid jobs at home, teachers who educate generations, doctors who save lives every day, workers who build roads, houses and the future of this country. We know that Moldova can because of our people. And together, step by step, we are building a country that ensures well-being for all", reads the prime minister's message.

The Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, noted that "on May 1 we celebrate the value of work and hardworking and dedicated people": "It is the day when we express gratitude to all those who work with dignity, courage and perseverance. It is about our Moldovans – at home and in the diaspora – who carry forward the good name of honest work. We thank those who build, educate, care, create, transport, innovate and, above all, those who do not give up. We wish you all health, recognition and strength to work! Let us work day by day, tirelessly, for a European Moldova in peace and prosperity".

We remind you that the Republic of Moldova marks today, May 1, together with over 80 other countries in the world, International Workers' Day – a holiday with deep historical roots, which celebrates the struggle of workers for social rights and fair working conditions. According to legal provisions, this day is free for employees and is an opportunity for trade union confederations to remind the authorities of the need for policies that ensure a decent living and dignity at work.
